How do I notify OSMC if my child will be absent from class?
Please email osmcinv@gmail.com to notify OSMC of your child's absence from lessons.
My child already has some music experience. What classes can they enrol in?
Our OSMC Coordinator, in conjunction with our knowledgeable and experienced tutors, will provide you with details of the best classes to enrol your child in that align with their stage in learning and will enable them to further their music education with OSMC.

What instruments can I hire and/or resources can I buy from the OSMC office?

The hireage of OSMC instruments is subject to the OSMC 'Lost or Damaged Property Policy – Instrument Hire' which can be view here.
What payment options are available for paying invoices and resources?
Internet banking is the preferred method for paying invoices and general resources. The OSMC account details are:

When paying by internet banking, please ensure you use your child's first and last name as reference.
Payments can also be made in cash (no EFTPOS available) at the OSMC office during class hours: Fridays 4.00 pm - 6.00 pm and Saturdays 8.45 am - 12.45 pm.
Payment plans are welcome upon arrangement with administration. Late payments will incur a fee of $25.00. If you have any queries about your account, please direct these to Linda McGregor, OSMC Coordinator, osmcinv@gmail.com

What is a good website and/or app to help support my child with learning to read music?
Developing aural skills is very important but having the ability to read music is also an immensely valuable skill.
The exercises on this website Music Theory Net work on any device and are an excellent way to practice note naming for musicianship students: https://www.musictheory.net/exercises.
There are exercises for naming notes on the treble and bass clef staves, notes on the keyboard, notes on the fretboard of the guitar and ukulele, key signature identification, and much more! Exercises can be done at their own pace or as challenges against a countdown timer and can be customised. The website is also available as an app.
